Strey is a mobile app concept designed to connect emerging contemporary African artists with art enthusiasts and collectors worldwide. It serves as a platform to discover, engage with, and purchase original artwork, fostering a vibrant community around African art.This project focuses on the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design of the Strey mobile app. The goal is to create an intuitive, visually appealing, and user-friendly experience that facilitates seamless art discovery, artist connection, and secure transactions while celebrating the richness and diversity of contemporary African art.
Objective:
The primary objective is to craft a user-centric mobile application that seamlessly connects art enthusiasts and collectors with contemporary African art. This involves designing an intuitive navigation and discovery experience, complemented by a visually striking interface that celebrates artistic diversity. To ensure optimal performance and engagement, the app will feature key functionalities for fostering artist-collector relationships, facilitating secure transactions, and building a vibrant community, all while maintaining a consistent design language that strengthens the Strey brand identity.
Challenges:
Despite a multitude of emerging talent, the modern African art industry suffers from a lack of worldwide representation and market access. New artists frequently lack the resources and connections required to engage with collectors throughout the world. At the same time, art enthusiasts struggle to find and relate to this exquisite art form. Building a community around African art is hindered by the fact that current platforms do not adequately convey the allure and cultural legacy of African art. By offering a straightforward and considerate platform for the appreciation, discovery, and acquisition of original works, the mobile application aims to close this gap and support an autonomous, networked African art ecosystem.

The Strey app has the potential to greatly increase the worldwide reach of African art by giving artists a compelling platform to showcase their work and connect with a larger audience. People trust the system and are driven to participate because of its intuitive design and secure transaction features. The app's visually appealing layout successfully reflects the particular aesthetic and cultural backdrop of African art, boosting the user experience and instilling greater appreciation for this dynamic artwork. Key Achievements:
The Strey mobile app received a user-centered UX/UI design covering from initial research to final prototype thanks to the project's effective completion. Among the major achievements is the development of easy browse and search tools enabling users to sort art by artist, style, medium, and price level. A thorough artist profile system formed part of the design, enabling artists to show their portfolios, biographies, and show histories and thus improving their interaction with possible buyers. Designed to give a consistent and reliable retail experience, secure transaction protocols The visual design of the app highlighted the depth and variety of contemporary African art and gave it a modern, culturally connected appearance that resonated with the target group.
